Ketley’s brown brindle quarry tiles play a quiet but important role in the crafted material palette of Giovenale Milano, the new 600‑bed student residence designed by Carmody Groarke in Milan. While the project is defined architecturally by its three interlinked volumes wrapped in reconstituted local Ceppo stone, the interior strategy relies on robust, natural materials that reinforce the building’s emphasis on longevity, tactility and everyday usability.
Ketley’s brown brindle clay quarry tiles are known for their high slip resistance, low maintenance and excellent durability. Their warm purply brown tones provide a warm, hard‑wearing surface ideal for the high‑traffic communal areas of this student accommodation. Laid in an unusual half - bond pattern and combined with bespoke timber furniture, they help to create a cohesive material language across circulation spaces, shared study zones and ground‑floor social areas.
