New house in SE London
Ketley Staffs blue bricks and pavers

This cleverly designed new build house sits on an awkwardly shaped tapering plot on the end of a Victorian terrace. The street front of the house is only 2m wide and Staffordshire blue facing bricks laid in a stock bond create the entrance walls to the new property beneath the new timber clad bay window. Architects Studio Bam! have introduced light into the design with a small triangular courtyard, paved with Ketley clay pavers. The rear of the house extends to 7m in width and opens up with sliding doors onto a large garden patio with Ketley Staff blue clay pavers. Architects Studio Bam! explain "A limited budget guided the design towards an economical timber framed construction, which in turn allowed resources for good quality finishes, services and fixtures. An emphasis was placed on robust, simple detailing to make the building both legible and honest." See more about this project here 35 Lutwyche Road | Studio BAM! | Archello
