Staffordshire Red 'Class A' Engineering Brick

Ketley Brick Company Ltd. are one of the very few manufacturers who can produce solid Red Engineering bricks to a Class A specification. 

Ketley Staffordshire Red Class A bricks are used in a broad variety of applications either due to their acid resistance and strength or for aesthetic and architectural purposes.  This means Ketley Staffordshire Reds can be seen in commercial developments, landscaping, and for structural uses such as bridges and factory walls.

 

Quality

  • Conform with BS EN 771-1 Class A & B.
  • Solid, Non-perforated.
  • Uniformly high crushing strength.
  • Low water absorption.
  • A product of consistent and close production control.

Ketley Bricks are universally of "Special Quality" for use in particularly exposed conditions, such as the Cheltenham Flood Aleviation Scheme seen here on the left. 

Ketley Bricks are blended from marls from our own clay reserves and then dried with very precise humidity control, made possible by the latest automated control equipment. Vitrification takes place in modern gas-fired kilns to temperatures in excess of 1200"C.
